Ahmedabad-based Nila Infrastructures Ltd has said the company has received two key projects from the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation to construct Bus Terminal Facilities (BTF).

In a move to improve the urban transport infrastructure, the Amreli BT facility has been awarded individually to Nila Infrastructures Ltd, while the Modasa BT facility has been awarded to it in consortium with Vyapti Infra build Pvt. Ltd, where Nila holds a share of 34 per cent, a statement said.

The projects entail creating an iconic structure and design fortified with modern facilities that integrate commercial facilities on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.

"These are landmark projects for us as the company breaks new ground and graduates further within the civic urban infrastructure business. It will provide additional opportunities to the company in civic transport and logistics-related construction business, which has abundant prospects,” said Manoj Vadodaria, CMD, Nila Infrastructures Ltd.

The BTF construction envisages the development of the latest infrastructure comprising bus-bays, administrative area, operating area, works or repairs area and passenger amenities, among others. The construction work will be completed in 24 months.

On the financial front, these PPP projects would also further balance the company’s order-book and provide the benefit of better profitability, added Vadodaria.

In Amreli, of the total area of 17,095 square metres, the BTF facility will be constructed on a 7,719 square metre built-up area at an estimated cost of Rs 14.03 crore. The company will have the right to monetise the commercial facilities of about 12,800 square metres.

The company will have the right to develop, design, finance, construct, operate and maintain commercial facilities such as shops, offices, restaurants, hospitals, multiplex, parking lots, etc, to be leased up to a period of 90 years.

At Modasa, of the total area of 30,212 square metres, the BTF facility will be constructed on 6,279 square metres at an estimated cost of Rs 15.15 crore. In consideration it will get the right to monetise commercial facilities of about 39,000 square metres.

The project will benefit approximately 15 lakh GSRTC passengers each month at the Amreli and Modasa depots.
