The city will host the National Seed Congress from October 27 to 29. The conference would discuss the issues of quality, availability and challenges that seed producers are facing in the country.
“The meeting will be attended by all the stakeholders from across the country to discuss the challenges the seed sector is facing. We will invite papers from experts on various issues related to the sector,” C Partha Sarathi, Chairman of the National Organising Committee of the congress, has said.
The congress would provide a platform for all stakeholders in seed sector to come together and discuss critical issues impacting the seed supply. It would also come out with recommendations on changes in the policies.
Partha Sarathi, who is also Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary to Telangana Government, said in a statement on Saturday that the meet would discuss the scope of latest technologies in ensuring food security.
