The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has a new Chairman in senior IRS officer K V Chowdary.
Chowdary, who will have a tenure of three months, assumed charge at the North Block here on Friday.
He has replaced R K Tewari who superannuated on Thursday after being at the helm of CBDT for five months.
Prior to this elevation, Chowdary, a 1978 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service, was Member (Investigations) in CBDT. > srivats.kr@thehindu.co.in
