Trinamool Congress has said that the Budget 2015 is neither for the poor nor for the middle class. The increase in service tax will hurt the middle class and lead to a rise in the prices of essentials.
Trinamool also criticised the points on giving more to the States. According to the party Web site, the “points on giving more to the States are untrue. Last year, gross output to States was 61.88 per cent. This year, it is 62 per cent.”
Referring to many proposals as “hollow talk on Federalism”, the party said there is a lot of talk on infrastructure and social development. But the action plan on the same has not been outlined.
“There is a lot of big talk on infrastructure and social development. Big promises… Where is the action plan?,” it questioned.
Even the facts that projects like modernisation of police force, National Mission on Food Procurement, and National e-governance plan which have been de-linked from Central funding was criticised by the party.
According to Trinamool, despite looking to promote a Look East policy, what the eastern states – mainly West Bengal – got is “small change”.
