After changing its name from Star CJ to Shop CJ, the Korean home shopping channel hopes to break even in India by the next financial year. Earlier, the company was known as Star CJ when it was an equal JV with Star TV. Later, private equity firm Providence Equity Partners bought out Star’s stake in the JV. “We have a 40 per cent share in the home shopping segment today and are looking forward to breaking even in the next financial year,’’ said Kenny Shin, CEO, Shop CJ. With sales turnover of ₹650 crore, Shop CJ is the second largest player after Home Shop 18 in the Indian TV shopping category.
