All 50 outlets would be operated under the franchise model. While the average size of The French Loaf outlets would be around 300 to 500 sq ft; Wangs’ outlets would be between 800 and 1,000 sq ft.

Apart from these, it owns fine dining chains: China Town and Benjarong (Thai cuisine), and stand-alone: The Tapas Bar and Restaurant and Le Chocolatier, a chocolate boutique. It currently has around 120 outlets, most of which are spread across the cities of Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

“All our outlets are company-owned. However, we decided to operate on the franchise model in the case of two of our most popular brands: The Fench Loaf and Wangs Kitchen to ensure expansion,” Narendra S Malhotra, Chief Executive Officer, Oriental Cuisines told Business Line .

According to him, at present, their focus would be to expand into the three cities.

“We might look at options in some Tier II cities, but that would be a one-off instance,” he added.
