Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd, a Mahindra Group company, has launched Gusto, a scooter developed at its Pune facility.

The 110cc scooter, introduced in two variants, is the first product to be developed independently after its acquisition of Kinetic Motor six years ago.

The vehicle is being launched at an introductory price of ₹43,000 for the Dx variant and ₹47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top-end Vx variant. It has a mileage of 63 km per litre (ARAI certified).

“The vehicle has been launched in the northern and western parts of the country, and it will be rolled out in a phased manner across the rest of the country over the next few months,” Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Executive Director Pawan Goenka said, launching the scooter here today.

“The price will certainly go up, but not before Diwali,” Goenka said, without divulging further details. The Italian-styled Gusto, powered by an M-TEC engine, comes with a height adjustable seat, find-me and guide lamps and halogen head lamps.

Mahindra Two Wheelers has invested ₹65 crore for the development of the product. The Gusto would be manufactured at the company’s Pithampur plant in Madhya Pradesh.
