To cash in on the growing demand for fashion apparels, Splash is expanding its footprint across major cities.

The fashion brand, which had been a shop-in-shop brand within Lifestyle stores till 2011, now has 15 large format stand-alone stores.

Launching the 15th store in Chennai, which is the second in the city, Kalyan Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Splash, said the plan is to take the total number of stores to at least 50 in the next three years.

“We are in talks with many real estate developers, be it on high streets or malls, to expand our horizon.”

Splash, part of the Dubai-headquartered Landmark Group, is a ₹100-crore brand in India.

According to Kumar, this is the largest brand within the group and one of the fastest growing brands in West Asia and Africa.

“With the demand for fashion apparels and accessories growing at a healthy pace, we expect to replicate its success in India as well,” he said, adding, “We want it to be a ₹500-crore brand by the time we have 50 stores in our network.”

Splash, targeted at the youth, offers apparels, fashion jewellery, hand bags, belts and wallets for men and women. It proposes to bring in lingerie, men’s innerwear and footwear.

While the group’s Lifestyle brand is positioned as ‘department store’ and Max as ‘value fashion store’, Splash is positioned as a ‘complete fashion store’.

“Our focus will only be on offering collections inspired by international trends,” Kumar said. Close to 50 per cent of its offerings are made in India and the rest are procured from China, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
