“AMEA (Asia, Middle East & Africa) region, of which India is a part, is a priority market for us. While Japan holds the maximum number of Crowne Plaza hotels for us in AMEA, going forward, growth will be fuelled by India, South-East Asia and West Asian markets. We have 68 Crowne Plaza hotels in AMEA, most of which are managed and the rest franchised,” Bruce Ryde, Director, Brand Management, InterContinental Hotels Group, AMEA, told BusinessLine .
Crowne Plaza is the fourth largest upscale, full-service, business hotel brand worldwide. It is also one of the fastest growing, at 400 hotels in over 65 countries, with a global pipeline of nearly 100 hotels. Positioned as a brand that targets “high achievers” in the 35- plus, age profile, Crowne Plaza caters to every need of a high-achieving business traveller.
“High achievers look for a hotel that can empower and match their needs to work hard, drive for success and help them balance their family and work life. Crowne Plaza provides instant connectivity, spacious rooms (30-33 sq metres), rest and rejuvenation, guaranteed wake up calls, breakfast on the go, quiet zones and specially designed business productivity rooms that will be launched in the US to start with,” said Ryde.
Special offersElaborating, he said, “We offer business guests packaged breakfast which they can take away, a sleep advantage programme with aroma therapy solution (in the Middle East and Japan at the moment) in the room which helps to make the night restful. We are planning to start quiet zones which will not be disturbed by housekeeping or maintenance staff between 10pm–8am this quarter.”
Crowne Plaza will be launching rooms that radically challenge the traditional norms of business space in hotels and allow guests to move freely between three key areas – a cocooned bed, a flexible ‘nook’ and a streamlined workspace.
