ABT Industries Ltd, part of the Coimbatore based Sakthi Group, has introduced its ready to cook products in the Kerala market. The new 7 offerings under the brand name ABT Foods include Rava-idli mix, Rava-upma mix, Pongal mix, gulab-jamun mix etc.
C.B. Charles, Senior Vice President, ABT Foods told reporters here that the ready to cook market in the country is estimated at ₹1,800 crore, which is growing at 20 per cent in volume and 25 per cent in value terms. The company is aiming a sales revenue of ₹10 crore in the first year of operations from the southern markets.
In the first phase, the products will be rolled out in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and other southern states and there are also plans to cater the export markets of West Asia, Far East, US and Europe shortly. The company will use its existing retail network over 7,000 outlets and 20 exclusive Sakthi stores to drive its sales, he said adding that more such products like canned sweets, ice creams, canned beverages, flavoured mils are in the pipeline.
